This article is for students who may be overwhelmed with too much homework after a day of e- learning or a full day of school.
Too many students complain about the amount of work many teachers assign for homework. Even though this is true in some situations, it is up to us as the adults to encourage them to do their best to complete their assignments, regardless of the circumstances.
This is a problem many students face from middle school through college. It can be stressful and can cause a child’s grades and their confidence to dr. We certainly don’t want that to happen.
If this applies to you, here are three simple solutions you can try to get the homework done with ease and less stress.
Before they sit down to do their homework after school, give them a snack, and something refreshing to drink. After a long day of school, their brain might be exhausted from learning all day and just might need a boost of energy..
Second, limit the distractions that could take their mind away from their work. Make sure the phone is face down, the TVs are and the games are off so they can focus on your homework.
Have them start with the easiest assignments first, in order to give them a confidence boost and a sense of accomplishment. I call this giving them a quick win. It’s a way to keep them motivated, encouraged and moving forward.
If your child is dealing with the problem of not understanding the homework, encourage them to ask questions in class, while the teacher is there to give them additional help. This makes their after school assignments so much easier.
Start homework assignments early so they can relax, take their time and not be rushed.
Lastly, having folders for each class to write down assignments and take notes may help them to be more organized. This way they can separate the homework assignments from the regular papers. This also serves as a reminder about what needs to be done when they’re ready to start their work.
There are no magic tricks to success, but the solutions above can help the children avoid being overwhelmed, and move them one step closer to their goals.
