Black History Quote Of The Day

“I will never forget that the only reason I’m standing here today is because somebody, somewhere stood up for me when it was risky. Stood up when it was hard. Stood up when it wasn’t popular. And because that somebody stood up. And a few more stood up. And a few thousand stood up. And then a few million stood up. And standing up with courage and clear purpose, they somehow managed to change the world.”   ~ President Barack Obama, the 44th President, and the 1st African American President of the USA

I like this quote because it seem as though the president is showing his gratitude to our forefathers who dared to make a difference to change the world. This is what I think he meant:

Change happens in this world when someone with a vision of a brighter future is willing to break new ground, and carve out a path where no one has gone before.

They are willing to risk being misunderstood, ostracized and even ridiculed to open doors and new opportunities to make life better for their families and future generations.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this quote. Please your thoughts in the comment section below.

To your success,
