Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers and mothers-to-be.
Today, May 12,2013 is a special day that has been set aside to honor all mothers across the United States.
Do somethingĀ super special for your love one.Ā Give a gift from the heart, something that isĀ meaniful to her and only her. It’s all about her today.Ā It can beĀ most gratifying, just toĀ see that look of approval on her face when you shower her with your love and well wishes. Give her something special to brag about when talking to her friends on tomorrow. One of the most precious gifts you can give is a gift of service.
Ask yourself, “How can I serve her, or how can I be of service to her? ” What does she need that she would not dare ask for? Here are a few suggestions to jump start your thought process.
Accompany her to her place of worship.
Prepare her favorite dish or meal. You know the one thing she talks about, but wouldn’t dare ask for. Learn to listen attentively. Mothers tend to tell youĀ exactlyĀ what they want if we only pay attention, or take them seriously.
Serve her a special mealĀ in bed, or set the table using her special table cloth, place mats, silverware, glassware, napkins etc. Make a centerpiece using fresh home grown flowers, or find a beautiful bowl and fill with colorful fresh fruit or fresh vegetables. Be as creative as you would like. After all, it is the thought that counts. Whatever you do make it your own.Ā This is your canvas, paint the pictureĀ that you desire.Ā You make the rules. The sky is the limit.
If you are a musician, serenade her during the meal orĀ provide soft musicĀ from the radio, cd’s or your ipod or iPhone. You get the idea.
Involve theĀ kids in the process. They loveĀ surprises andĀ keeping fun secrets.You’ll be surprised at the small yet, precious contributions they can make.
Giving is not about the amount of money you spend, but it’s about giving a gift that comes from the heart.
