If you take a journey back into history, you will find where the 19th amendment was passed into law on August 18,1920 granting women the right to vote.
Ninety six years later, the United States has it’s first female presidential nominee to the Democratic party. This is quite an accomplishment for the women in America.
This is a historic for Hillary in more ways than one. In 2008, about eight years ago, she lost the Democratic primary election to our current president, Barack Obama. Did that stop her ? No, she stepped out of the spotlight and took time to relax, reflect and regroup. After a brief rest, she returned to the campaign trail, and supported Senator Obama in the general election. She worked hard, along beside him and his campaign team, as they collaborated, strategized and won the election.
Because of her unselfishness, and dedication to the cause, she was one of many who helped to elect him as the 44th President of the United States. She graciously accepted a post in his cabinet as Secretary of State when asked, and worked with him for a period of four years before stepping down.
As President Obama’s second presidential term comes to an end, Secretary Clinton has decided to return to the campaign trail.
She is currently the nominee for the Democratic Party, competing in the general election in November 2016, for the office of President of the United States.
The key takeaway here is:
Because of Hillary Clinton’s vision, her dedication, hard work, perseverance, preparation and a plan, she is one step closer to reaching her lifelong goal. Regardless of the outcome of the election in November, she will always be known in history as the first woman to be nominated to the highest position in America.
What a role model, and an incredible moment in history for the girls and boys in the USA.
