I was reading this interesting article in The Chicago Defender, that I thought I would share with you. It’s a must read for all parents with children who love to play in the water.
The ninety degree days has finally arrived and the children are making their way toward the beaches, swimming pools, splash pads and in some cases the fire hydrants to stay cool and have tons of fun in the sun.
In this article, these are the recommendations made by the lifeguard.
Don’t use floaties.
Lifeguards are not babysitters.
There are no true signs of drowning.
Jump with caution.
Make sure the kids get swimming lessons.
To ensure that the children are safe while they splash in the water, and build their swimming skills, it is also important that they know and apply the safety rules and regulations.
